Anna-Marie Sutherland is a Toronto born and Hamilton based actress and model with 30+ years experience. She returned to acting in 2023 with performances on both stage and screen. ending the year with the principal role of 'Donna' in Discovery Channel’s "Fear Thy Neighbour", She began 2024 with the critically acclaimed "Outcasted" that has been very successful on the international film festival circuit. She was then cast in the independent film "Apnea", that has premiered at the Blood in the Snow Film Festival.
Anna-Marie continued to land roles in the films "Quiet Redemption", "Grocery List", "Chasing Echoes", "Earned", and "The Passage of Natasha May", She then began work on the web series "Dear Grandpa, It's Michael", followed by the films "We're All Haunted Here", "The Only Child", "The Backstage", "Frequency of Fear", and the web series episode "Family Ties" for Paradigm Studios.. Anna-Marie is ending the year filming "Dreaming David", "STAR 04" and a commercial campaign filmed in Vancouver.
Anna-Marie has completed Jo Kelly's 33 days to RESET Journey; Resistance to Freedom., She also works with Karen Ivany, and has worked with Larry Moss, Bernadette Jones, Sears & Switzer, Second City, Theatre Studio, and ASM Performing Arts. She has worked on thousands of sets around the world and has an experienced understanding of professional acumen.. Anna-Marie is passionately dedicated to the craft and continuously prepares herself for her next adventure in the art of storytelling.
Anna-Marie is best known for portraying the heavenly Bulgarian Nurse in the Academy Award winning feature film The Barbarian Invasions. She began her career as an international model, then segued into acting through theatre. Favourite past stage roles include Shelby in Steel Magnolias and Florence Unger in The Odd Couple. She has also appeared at the Toronto Fringe Festival and in The Vagina Monologues. Most recently, Anna-Marie performed in The Hungry Ones; A Theatre of the Oppressed Forum exploring Truth and Reconciliation within Canada.
